Ergonomics and Human Factors

Avoid pain when working

Although there is no perfect posture, we know that using laptops and computer equipment for many hours each day or performing physical working tasks incorrectly can contribute to feelings of stiffness and pain or even injury. Many people have completed mandatory training about how to set up their workstation or lift weights at work, but they continue to suffer. Why is that? Most often, it is down to the behaviour of the individual and the tasks they are performing through the day as well as their overall fitness, wellbeing and activities outside of work. An individual assessment and training by an expert is recommended to ensure you are able to work in the best way to suit your own body.

We offer a service of remote and in-person assessment and training services in English and Italian to suit any kind of computer work. This includes people working from home, in the office, when travelling or in other environments such as laboratories or non-standard office environments. We also offer a consultancy and training service for non-office work environments, such as laboratories, factories, manufacturing, construction, vehicles and other locations.

DSE Assessment

A DSE assessment investigates the equipment being used, the tasks being performed during the day, the health, wellbeing and behaviour of the individual and then combines all of the information to train the individual in the best way to perform their tasks, position their equipment, adjust their seating and modify their behaviour to promote health and reduce pain. When required, anthropometric measurements are taken to allow the assessor to specify equipment such as seating. Our team work within the budgets of the company. This type of assessment can be delivered in person or via video call online. Services have been delivered successful online since 2017 and so this is a cost-effective way to ensure all employees receive a quick and reliable service to reduce their risk of injury or to help them to resolve their pain when working.

Ergonomics Assessments

Ergonomics, or Human Factors, goes beyond work in the office. It looks at the interaction between humans and work at a physical, psychological, cognitive and social level. Ergonomists have many validated outcome measures that they can use to measure the level of risk and guide employers how to effectively reduce risk in the short, medium and long term. Assessments can focus on manual handling, productivity, lean processes, cognitive load, physical risk and the reduction of the risk of error. Our team have experience in the delivery of these services across many industries. Contact us to find out how we can help you reduce the risk of injury or boost productivity in your workplace.
